Suite of Memories
Residence in the Justicia neighborhood, Madrid
In the heart of Madrid’s Justicia neighborhood, near Barquillo Street, we were entrusted with the complete transformation of a charming residence set within a traditional building, featuring a brick façade and small balconies overlooking one of the city’s most distinctive streets.

The original residence featured a highly compartmentalized layout. With just 70 square meters, the space was divided into numerous small rooms, with outdated installations and a deteriorated wooden structure. There were no communal areas or open spaces, making a complete structural and conceptual overhaul essential.
During the initial demolition phase, we discovered the poor condition of the wooden beams, which required reinforcing the floor slabs and several columns before proceeding with the execution of the new project.
The owners conveyed a clear wish: to transform the apartment into a spacious suite with the essence of a hotel a fluid, sophisticated home filled with personal touches and references.

The Transformation
We designed a warm, open, and sensory home, infused with personal references, art, memories, and details that evoke places from around the world.
An open suite visually connected to the dining and living areas, yet capable of becoming independent through a large sliding wooden door.
Earthy tones, fine woods, mirrors, soft lighting, and the constant presence of sound and scent were the key elements used to create an immersive and characterful atmosphere.
At the center, a sculptural volume the guest restroom acts as both a core and a divider between spaces:
-
On one side, the sleeping area with a bedroom, open bathroom, and walk-in closet.
-
On the other, the open kitchen, which links the dining area and the living room overlooking the balconies.
