The Transformation
Before the renovation, we found an old 250 m² residence in Argüelles, Madrid, that required a complete transformation due to its compartmentalized layout and outdated installations.
Despite its condition, the abundant natural light became the focal point of the new design. After a full demolition, we redesigned the space for a young Cuban couple, creating a harmonious and serene home filled with designer furniture and artworks by Cuban artists. A soft color palette was chosen to enhance the sense of calm.
Natural light guides the flow of the home, with the bedroom facing east and the common areas facing west, resulting in an immersive and pleasurable living experience.

This apartment is enjoyed by a young Cuban couple lovers of art, music, fine wine, and well proportioned spaces. As foreigners, they trusted the studio not only to design their home but also to guide them throughout the entire process: from finding the ideal neighborhood to defining every last detail.
They chose Argüelles for its tranquility, its light, and its proximity to Parque del Oeste. A place from which they can walk to Justicia, Chamberí, or Salamanca perfectly aligning with their way of experiencing the city: open, unhurried, and cultural.
They were looking for a home they could completely transform, adapted to a contemporary lifestyle: with a connected living room, dining room, and kitchen; a guest restroom; two guest bedrooms with a shared bathroom; and a master suite with an integrated walk-in closet and bathroom.
They also sought something more intangible: a home that felt balanced, where the main bedroom would bathe in morning sunlight and the communal areas would be filled with afternoon light.
Today, the house is a true reflection of their lives. They enjoy it by reading by the window, cooking delicious meals, listening to music, or hosting long dinners with friends.
The lighting evolves with the rhythm of the day, gently transforming each atmosphere as time passes.
